Khursheed Shah demands to hold in-camera session to discuss Saudi-Iran issue

Summary Pakistan should not lag behind in finding solution to the issue, says Opposition Leader

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly (NA) Khursheed Shah on Tuesday has demanded the government to call an in-camera session to discuss Saudi-Iran row.

The Opposition Leader addressed the participants of the session after Advisor to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz’s speech.

Shah demanded the government to clear its constraints and ties with the countries as Saudi-Iran tiff could affect the entire region. The Opposition Leader criticised Aziz for his statements. Shah said that Aziz should not read Foreign Office’s (FO) press release to the participants as it sounds like a statement of a ‘weakened and helpless state.’

Shah demanded Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif to play an effective role. He demanded the PM to approach Muslim countries in the region and help lessen the tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

He said that Pakistan should bring the two countries closer. Pakistan should not lag behind in finding solution to the issue, he added.
