Summary Pak-India Foreign Secretary talks to be held mid-Jan, Afghan peace process session between 15 & 31
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah has on Thursday said that Islamic State (IS) has no presence in Pakistan. He told that Pak-India Foreign Secretary talks are expected to be held somewhere between mid of January 2016 while the session for the restoration of peace process in Afghanistan will be held in Islamabad between 15th and 31st of the same month, reported Dunya News.
Terming 2015 as a ‘year of successes’, FO Spokesperson said that the first month of 2016 will be important for Pak-India talks and restoration of peace process in Afghanistan. He told that the foreign secretaries of Pakistan and India will meet to formulate a schedule for dialogue between the two countries.
Qazi Khalilullah added that the session for the restoration of peace process in Afghanistan between Afghanistan, Pakistan, United States and China will also be held in Islamabad.
FO Spokesperson said that the restoration of peace dialogue between India and Pakistan, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), membership of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Heart of Asia Conference held in Islamabad and Pakistan’s role in Afghan peace process were major achievements of Pakistan’s Foreign Office during 2015.
Qazi added that IS has no presence in Pakistan and some people are using the name of the terrorist organisation individually. He said that some suspects related to IS were arrested in Pakistan and they are being interrogated. He said that Pakistan’s security forces are ready to fight the danger posed by IS.
