LARKANA (Dunya News) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman on Sunday vowed not to let Pakistan become liberal, adding that linking jihad with terrorism is a ‘gross conspiracy’, Dunya News reported.

Addressing the ‘martyrs conference’ in Larkana to mark the first death anniversary of slain leader Khalid Soomro, he said entire Europe and United States (US) have united together against Islam.

He said Islam is being projected as an extremist religion in front of the whole world. JUI-F chief said linking jihad with terrorism is a gross conspiracy.

“It is not Islam that is wrong, it is the people that interpret it Islam wrongly”, he said, adding that peace has been destroyed in Egypt, Libya, Syria and Yemen.

Blasting US policies, Fazlur Rehman said the claimants of peace have destroyed Afghanistan and Iraq and that the West is now trying to isolate Pakistan.

He said Pakistan came into existence because of an ideology, adding that ideologies don’t change every day. He said efforts need to be made to make Pakistan Islamic instead of liberal.
