Summary Jamiluddin Aali died of heart attack in a private hospital of Karachi after a long illness

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Famous Urdu poet, author and intellectual Jamiluddin Aali died on Monday after a long illness. He was being treated in a private hospital of Karachi, reported Dunya News.

President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and many famous names of literature expressed their grief on the great loss of Urdu literature and Pakistan.

Jamiluddin Aali was born on 20th of January, 1926 in Delhi. He graduated in Economics, History and Persian in 1945. He passed Central Superior Services (CSS) exam in 1951 and served in many government departments aftrwards. He was nominated fellow for United Nations’s (UN) institute for culture, UNISCO in 1963.

Aali has many publications to his credit including, Ghazals, songs, Lahasal, famous patriotic song Jivey Jivey Pakistan, Dunya Merey Aagey and Insan. His patriotic songs became so famous that even after decades they are sung by Pakistanis with same enthusiasm. He got many awards for his services for Urdu literature. He was awarded the President’s Pride of Performance award by the government of Pakistan in 1979.
