Summary The chaotic admissions have subsequently led to non-payment of salaries for 2129 of the officers.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In a startling revelation, a report submitted by Inspector-General (IG) of Sindh to the Supreme Court indicates that almost 2000 officers were recruited into the Sindh police without subjecting the officers to any preliminary tests or interviews in order to assess their capabilities. These faulty admissions have been on-going under Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah’s rule, who remains blissfully unaware of the issue. Dunya News obtained a copy of the report.

The irregularities and non-transparency of the recruitment procedure is a blatant example of ineptitude being displayed under CM Sindh s rule.

According to the submitted report, 11,182 police officers have been enlisted into grade 5 of Sindh’s police department from 2011 up until now. Out of these, the recruitment of 2000 of these officers was not based on merit and no apparent criteria had been set for the evaluation.

654 of these recruitments were not according to the merit list, 167 of the recruited officers did not undergo a written test, 147 of them were enlisted on domiciles of those districts other than their own while 702 of the recruitments were greater than the required number. 36 of the candidates were even allotted the same numbers during the written examination.

The chaotic admissions have subsequently led to the non-payment of salaries for 2129 of the officers due to insufficient funds and the additional enlistments.
