KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday said the decision to postpone local body elections in certain Union Councils (UCs) one night before election is ‘extremely controversial’, Dunya News reported.

Sindh: LB polls delayed in 53 UCs, 18 towns, 5 municipal committees


Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has delayed local body polls in 53 Union Councils (UCs), 18 towns, 5 municipal committees for the second phase of local body which will be held on Thursday, reported Dunya News.

A summary had been sent to Chief Election Commissioner, which got approved on Wednesday, regarding the delay of elections in constituencies in which delimitation had become an issue. Supreme Court had earlier granted ECP the discretion to sort out delimitation.

The constituencies in which election will not be held tomorrow will have their elections after 3rd phase of local body polls.

Local body polls in districts other than 14 specified districts will be held according to schedule.
