HYDERABAD (Dunya News) – Policemen who came from other districts for local bodies duties are facing difficulties due to negligence of management.

The on-duty policemen have not been provided with quality food and have been forced to spent nights on roads under the open sky.

The helpless personnel gave up their patience and stated that they were deployed on the security of the country but the administration has not even ensured basic facilities to them.



Separately in Gujranwala, more than ten thousand security officers also spent night in open air by playing games and dancing.

The polling for second phase of LB polls will be held on November 19.



Earlier, election campaign for the second phase of local government polls in Punjab and Sindh ended at midnight Tuesday. The candidates made last efforts to attract voters, many went against the code of ethics in desperation of winning the polls.

According to the details, in Uniion Council 24 of Sahiwal, a Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) candidate brought a real tiger for his election rally. Police arrested the supporters of the candidate but freed them after a short while on orders from ‘above’.

In ward number 22 of Ferozwala, the candidate for councilor from PML-N, Mehrab Khan declared himself unopposed winner and even printed the posters as winner of the election and pasted them in the area. The supply of ballot papers to the polling stations has been completed under the supervision of Pakistan Army. A whole of 4 lac, 84 thousand voters will cast their votes in Islamabad where 650 polling stations have been set up.

The polling on Thursday will be held in twelve districts of Punjab. These include Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Attock, Jhelum, Mianwali, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sheikhupura and Khanewal.

In Sindh, polling will be held in fourteen districts. These include Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Dadu, Jamshoro, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, Shaheed Benazirabad, Nausharoferoz, Mirpur Khas, Umerkot and Tharparkhar. The polling in Sanghar has been postponed due to security reasons. A total of over twenty million voters will exercise their right of franchise in the two provinces.
