Summary Karbala incident gives us the courage to resist the forces of oppression, PM says.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Youm-e-Ashur is being observed throughout the country today (Saturday) with due solemnity and reverence to pay homage to the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain Razi Allah-ho Anho and his companions at Karbala.

President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif in their separate messages on Ashura-e-Muharram have urged the nation to remain United by ending all of their sectarian differences.

In his message, President Mamnoon Hussain said that the day of Ashur reminds us of the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs of Karbala who rendered great sacrifices for the glory of Islam.

He said that following the footsteps of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) we can eliminate the menace of terrorism and extremism.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in his message said that the Karbala incident gives us the courage to resist the forces of oppression and act forthrightly in favour of truth.

He said we must shun our lingual, sectarian, and provincial differences and need to develop the qualities of brotherhood, unity, discipline and sacrifice in our life.
