WASHINGTON DC (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said India responded to Pakistan’s initiatives with anti-peace attitude, adding that Pakistan is desirous of better relations with its neighbours, Dunya News reported.
Addressing at United States Institute of Peace (USIP), PM Nawaz said democracy and economy are strengthening in Pakistan and terrorism is being eliminated.
He said Indian attitude is the biggest obstacle in the way of peace in the region, adding that Afghanistan will also have to make tough decision to improve situation.
PM Nawaz said that the most effected strategy has stopped the way of terrorism in Pakistan, adding that the whole nation was united after the terrorist attack on the Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar last year. He said the operation Zarb-e-Azb has paralyzed the enemy.
He said Pakistan is desirous of peace in the region and that it wants better relations with India but anti-Pakistan activities from across the border are advancing.
He said the violations of Line of Control (LoC) and use of power in Kashmir is also a major obstacle in the way of peace.
Condemning terrorism on Afghan soil, PM Nawaz said that Pakistan is desirous of better relations with Afghanistan as well but Kabul will also have to make tough decisions for improvement of the situation.
Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan believes in nuclear non-proliferation and wants to join the Nuclear Suppliers Group.

Nawaz Sharif on Friday visited Pentagon at the invitation of US Secretary of Defence Ashton Carter.
Matters relating to regional peace and security were discussed during the meeting.
PM Nawaz expressed satisfaction over the growing defence cooperation between Pakistan and the United States. He appreciated US cooperation in capacity building of Pakistan in countering terrorism.
Ashton Carter commended Pakistan’s efforts in fight against terrorism. He said Pakistan is playing a leading role in the war on terror.
The US Defence Secretary lauded Pakistan s efforts in bringing consensus on fighting terrorism. He also acknowledged Pakistan s role in peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
PM Nawaz also signed the guest book at the Pentagon.
