DERA BUGTI (Dunya News) – The security personnel foiled a terror bid after confiscating 40 kg of explosive materials during raid in Dera Bugti today (Tuesday).

According to sources, the operation was conducted at a vacant house on a tip off received. The officers recovered 40 kg of explosives, two remote control bombs and wires. An investigation has been launched into the matter to apprehend the culprits.

Separately in Gwadar, the Frontier Corps (FC) has held as many as 40 people in a human trafficking case.

FC spokesman told that a group of 40 members were taken into custody while attempting to illicitly going abroad for jobs. He said that the most of the detainees are from Lahore.

Moreover, the nabbed people have been handed over to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for further interrogation.

The Pakistani military has vowed to crush the insurgency and assured China of security for a planned China-Pakistan economic corridor from the Baluchistan port of Gwadar up to the Chinese border in northern Pakistan.

Officials said more than 3,000 militants have been killed since the launch of the latest offensive in tribal areas of Pakistan.

Earlier today, Rangers personnel have arrested at least twenty suspects including members of banned outfits and drug smugglers during a search operation in Shireen Jinnah Colony area of Karachi.

During door-to-door search, Rangers blocked the entry and exit points in the area and rounded up at least twenty suspects. Different weapons were also seized in the action.
 
Pakistani security forces have been battling militants for over a decade following the late 2001 US-led invasion of Afghanistan.

Furthermore, in view of Muharram security, Peshawar security personnel conducted a search operation and arrested over 42 suspects. The officers searched areas of walled city including Qissa Khawani Bazaar. The search team also comprised of female officials and sniffer dogs.
