Summary 359 members of the parliament have submitted their asset details to ECP so far.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Deadline for the members of the parliament and provincial assemblies to submit yearly statements of assets and liabilities before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) expires today (Wednesday).
Members of the Senate, National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies of the Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Puktunkhuwa and Balochistan are required to submit their asset details in the Election Commission Secretariat under Section 42A of the Representation of the People Act, 1976 and Section 25A of the Senate (Election) Act, 1975.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, 359 members of the parliament including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani, Shah Mehmoud Qureshi and Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik have so far submitted their asset details.
The total strength of lawmakers in the Senate, National Assembly and provincial assemblies is 1,174.
The ECP will notify the names of the members who fail to file statements of assets & liabilities by October 15 and will issue an order that such member shall cease to function till submission of their statement.
