ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday will withdraw its proposed schedule for local government elections in the federal capital after the commission received order of the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan today.
Sources said that the new schedule is likely to be announced on October 19. The polling after issuance of the revised schedule will be held on November 30. As soon as the schedule is withdrawn, the electoral lists will be unfrozen for corrections and inclusion of new voters.
The ECP has approached the SC regarding delimitations and electoral lists. The commission had sought withdrawal of the proposed schedule.
