Summary Local body elections cannot be held fairly under current ECP
LAHORE (Dunya News) -- Former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi declared Kisan package announced by the Prime Minister as a ‘fraud’. He said that in the past such packages were announced but never implemented, reported Dunya News.
Addressing a press conference at his residence, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that all the provinces have been asked to participate in the package that has been announced for farmers yet no province has been consulted. How is it possible that the amount is given by the provinces yet on the advertisement, face of PM Nawaz is printed, wondered Pervaiz Elahi.
Former Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi said that in the presence of the current members of the Election Commission, local body elections cannot be held fairly. He said that his party is contacting the opposition parties to boycott the elections while current members of election commission are serving.
In response to a question Pervaiz Elahi said that projects made in his time would benefit Ayaz Sadiq when he competes with Aleem Khan in elections.
