Summary Met office predicted rains from Sep 20-24 as air systems in Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal bring rains

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Meteorological (Met) department has on Friday predicted rains in Punjab and the Northern areas of Pakistan from September 20-24 as the air-system in the Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal is abpout to bring rains to the region, reported Dunya News.

Generally the monsoons almost end by the start of September due to which rains occur only after long periods but surprisingly, the rains have started moving towards Punjab due to which rains are expected in the Northern areas as well as entire Punjab, especially Sahiwal, Lahore, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi divisions.

The main reason behind these expected rains is that two different systems from Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean will collide after arriving in Pakistan and cause heavy rains that may even lead to flooding in rivers.

According to experts, such situation occurs once in 7 to 8 years.
