Summary Ch Nisar said the government will not allow misuse of the national identity cards
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Wednesday said that National Identity Card (NICs) and passport services will be available under same roof and without any bribe and that an SMS service to facilitate customers will also be launched, Dunya News reported.
Talking to the media, Nisar said that no one needs a special reference or to bribe in order acquire a passport or NIC. He said both NICs and passports will be available under the same roof, adding that the applicant will be provided with an SMS number.
He said the government is ensuring convenience while getting passport and identity cards and that the system is being made more transparent and improved.
The federal minister said that customers will be provided with information related to the issuance of passport and identity cards and that service centers will be established in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi.
He said a notification will be issued before adding anyone’s name to the Exit Control List (ECL), adding that those entered in ECL will have the right to appeal.
Ch Nisar said the government will not allow misuse of the national identity cards.
