Summary Public transport and private vehicles are moving without interruptions on roads
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) call to observe day of mourning on Saturday has failed as almost all business points and markets remained open while Rangers have apprehended eight workers for forcing owners to shut shops.
The Rangers have arrested eight MQM workers during patrols in different areas including Liaquatabad Number 4, Karimabad and Orangi Sector 5.
Almost all business centres including Saddar, Electronics Market, Bolton Market and Empress Market remained open. Traffic flow was reported normal since the morning today. Public transport and private vehicles are moving without interruptions on roads.

Compressed natural gas (CNG) stations also opened in the early hours after an outage of at least 24 hours. Educational institutions remained closed on the weekend however, official attendance was reported normal.
Rangers and police personnel are patrolling different areas since the morning. On the other hand, Rangers arrested at least eight culprits who were trying to shut down shops forcefully. The paramilitary force s spokesperson stated in a press release that all eight miscreants are MQM workers.
