ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The ongoing protests by young doctors in various cities including Islamabad and Lahore have not only caused massive humiliation and inconvenience to patients and families but also cost a life at PIMS hospital where a wounded policeman succumbed to injuries because no doctor was available, Dunya News reported.
The ongoing strike by doctors and paramedical staff against freezing of allowances went on for the second day as well. The third phase of negotiation also failed.
According to details, a wounded cop waited for the doctor for hours and finally succumbed to injuries. The government representatives have tried to negotiate with doctors for at least three rounds but remained inconclusive.
The demands of the protesting doctors were sent to the Secretary Finance but did not receive any response.
Doctors in Rawalpindi also staged a protest for service structure while the patients kept waiting to be attended.
