(Web Desk) – Nation has all set to observe golden jubilee of Defence of Pakistan Day today (Sunday). Patriotic citizens have paid tributes to martyrs and reiterate commitment to defend the motherland against all threats.
As per details, the day dawned with 31 gun salute in the Federal Capital and 21 gun salute in provincial capitals.
Special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country.
One minute silence was observed at 9:29am to pay homage to martyrs of 1965 war. The ceremony was followed by airing of national anthem.
Separately, Pakistan Air Force presented a special aerobatics display over F-9 Park in Islamabad.
The display showed fighting aircraft of PAF including JF-17 Thunder, F-16 and Mirage.

Main function of the day will be held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi to pay tributes to martyrs of Pakistan.
Pakistan inflicted a heavy blow and eliminated its enemy in the war. Be it the 1965 war, Kargil or Operation Zarb-e-Azb, Pakistan’s Armed Forces have always managed complete destruction of its enemies and emerged victorious.
Pakistan Army’s Spokesperson Major General Asim Bajwa stated on this occasion that any enemy who looks at Pakistan with a bad intention will not be spared.
