LAHORE (Dunya News) – The meat suspected to be pork that was seized from Railway Station Lahore was not pork but health hazardous, the laboratory has found.

Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin said that the lab report has been received and the tested meat sample is not from a forbidden animal.

On September 2, it was reported that meat suspected to be pork has been seized form Lahore Railway Station, causing a widespread concern among the consumers.

The Punjab Food Authority had seized the meat after raid and initially claimed it was possibly of pork. When questioned about how basis of suspicion, the food authority had changed its version saying they have sent the samples for testing.

Following days of wait, it has been finally ruled that the meat in question was not pork and the Punjab Food Authority may have been fooled.
