Summary Opposition parties protested against issuance of grants ahead of LG elections.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Finance Department on Thursday issued more than seven billion rupees development grants to the provincial government members.

Meanwhile, the opposition lodged strong protest against the move and submitted a privilege motion in the Punjab Assembly.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members termed issuance of the development grants as ‘pre-poll rigging’.

The PPP stated that the provincial government is trying to push the party against the wall whereas the PML-Q members alleged that this action depicts Punjab government’s ill intentions ahead of the local government elections.

The opposition parties have submitted a privilege motion in the Assembly Secretariat.
