Summary Punjab govt postpones sales tax till December, oil supply restored throughout the country
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association has on Tuesday called off the strike after successful negotiations with the federal government as Punjab government postponed the imposition of sales tax till December. The association has announced to restore supply of petroleum products throughout the country, reported Dunya News.
According to details, All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association had stopped the fuel supply protesting against the imposition of 16% sales tax by the provincial governments. A delegation of the association met Petroleum Minister today and presented their demands and concerns before him. The federal government assured the delegation of giving their concerns a sympathetic reconsideration while the provincial government of Punjab postponed the implementation of the tax till December 2015.
The association called off the strike after the negotiations. The imposition of this tax had already postponed been postponed till December 2015 in Sindh. The oil tankers owners will hold taloks in this regard with the provincial governments.
