LAHORE (Dunya News) – Members of Punjab Assembly asked for licenses for 2 Kalashnikovs for their protection on Friday. Law Minister Punjab has stated that if anyone wants to obtain licenses for the firearm then he would have to obtain training from Elite Police Center as well, reported Dunya News.
The session of Punjab Assembly was held under Acting Speaker Sher Ali Ghorchani. During the question-answer break, Acting Speaker expressed indignation as relevant authorities failed to provide the answers to questions. Sher Ali Ghorchani ordered the authorities to provide the answers within 8 working days, as per law.
During the session, MPA Muzahirran stated that Kalashnikovs should be issued to members of the assembly for their protection. Law Minister Punjab replied that if Kalashnikovs are to be issued then training must also be obtained to fire them adding that if resolution is passed the talk can be conducted with federal government for the licenses.
A resolution was also passed against former High Commissioner Wajid Shamsul Hassan. The resolution stated that former High Commissioner had said during a meeting that it had been a wrong decision to label Qadiyani as non-Muslim.
