Summary Qazi Khalilullah said the NSA level talks were cancelled due to Indian preconditions.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan has decided to acknowledge the United Nations about its concerns on Indian interference in Pakistan, Foreign Office Spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah said on Thursday.
During weekly press briefing in Islamabad, Qazi Khalilullah said the National Security Advisor level talks between Pakistan and India could not take place due to preconditions from the Indian side.
He said Pakistan had clearly stated that any preconditions would not acceptable for the talks.
To a question, the spokesperson said the Prime Minister is expected to visit United States this year on the invitation of US President Barrack Obama. Dates for the visit are still being worked out
He said Pakistan and the United States enjoy excellent relations and both the sides discuss all issues including cooperation in the defense field.
“Currently there is no proposal under consideration for a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi,” he added.
When asked about situation in Afghanistan, he said Pakistan is playing the role facilitator in Afghan peace process.
He reminded that Pakistan hosted and facilitated the first round of talks between Afghan government and Taliban. It is now up to the Afghans to decide the future course of action about talks.
