ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Thursday will chair a meeting to finalise next step after nullification of election results of as many as three constituencies.
The meeting will decide whether the ruling party will approach Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan or opt for re-elections.
Different politicians including Raja Zafarul Haq, Khawaja Asif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Asif Kirmani will participate in the meeting while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) legal counsels Ashtar Ausaf and Barrister Zafarullah will also take part.
PM’s Special Assistant on National Affairs, Irfan Siddique, while talking to Dunya News said that the meeting would review legal and political aspects of election tribunals’ verdicts. He said that there is a possibility that PML-N opts for re-elections. If not, he added, the party would approach the SC.
