RAWLAKOT (Web Desk) - Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) personnel once again targeted civilian settlements in Rawalakot’s Kellar sector in the early hours of Saturday morning, however, no loss of life or property damage was reported in the incident.

The incident took place a day after the Indian Deputy High Commissioner was called in by Director General (SA & SAARC) and a protest was lodged against the unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian forces in Rawalakot District.

On Friday, a woman identified as Ms Munir Akhtar lost her life and her two daughters Nasreen and Zeenat were severely injured when the mortar rounds fired by Indian forces hit a house belonging to Muhammad Azam in Village Mohri. The house was also destroyed due to the shelling.

The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was conveyed Pakistan s concern over the continuous unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian security forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary.

Pakistan urged India to immediately stop the violations and observe the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding.

India and Pakistan often accuse each other of violating a 2003 ceasefire agreement. The two countries have fought three wars, two of them over the divided and disputed Kashmir region.

The Muslim-majority Himalayan region is divided and administered separately by India and Pakistan but claimed by both in full, since the two countries gained independence from Britain in 1947.
