SIALKOT (Dunya News) – Indian forces on Friday opened unprovoked fire in Naiza Pir sector of Rawalakot claiming a woman s life and injuring three.

The forces opened fire twice on Independence Day and destroyed a house. The three injured people have been shifted to hospital for treatment. Pakistani forces reciprocated the fire until exchange halted.

Separately, neighbouring authorities have barred Kashmiris from waving or hoisting Pakistani flags today. Several leaders including Moderate Hurriyat Group Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have been put under house arrest. Heavy police contingents have been deployed in different areas including Srinagar.

However, Hurriyat leader Asia Andrabi waved flag today along with other members of the movement. The women also raised slogans in the gathering.

Earlier, India once again succumbed to her intransigence and longtime rigidity as Border Security Force (BSF) refused to accept sweets offered to them at Wagah Border during Independence Day celebrations.

A stunning flag hoisting ceremony was organised at the border. Rangers Director General (DG) Major General Umer Farooq Barki hoisted the flag. Sweets were distributed among the people who had come to revisit the magnificence of the historic day.

The border forces, like Independence Day celebrations in the past, offered sweets to the BSF however, the Indian authorities refused to take part in neighbour’s celebrations.
