RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The bodies of five majors martyred in Mansehra helicopter crash have been transported to Rawalpindi. The accident took place because of bad weather and fog and the debris is still scattered, Dunya News reported.

The military helicopter had crashed on Thursday while engaging in rescue efforts for the flood-hit people killing at least 12 personnel.

The military rescue teams participated in the operation to gather bodies and look for survivors. The operation continued over night and concluded at 9:30 in the morning.

The bodies were first moved to Abbottabad from where they were transported to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalpindi. The autopsy is currently being performed on the martyrs’ bodies and it is likely their funeral will be offered by tomorrow.

High level political and military leadership will attend the funeral and will then be taken to their native areas for burial.
