ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday has rejected federation’s appeal to annul nullification order of bureaucrats’ promotions until detailed verdict.

Justice Amir Farooq held hearing of appeal filed by the federation.
Additional Attorney General Afnan Kareem Kundi requested the court to annul the order as implementation is impossible until detailed verdict. If federation fails to comply with the order, it would have to face contempt of court charges, he added.

Petitioners’ counsel Barrister Masroor Shah argued that if federation has nothing to hide then why should it fear going to the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan. The counsel requested the court to grant time to the plaintiffs to file a reply against federation’s appeal.

The IHC granted time until August 11 (Tuesday).

The development has come in after the IHC has nullified promotions of more than 300 top bureaucrats. The plaintiffs had alleged top authorities of favouring officials from certain areas and neglecting others.
