RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Pakistan Army’s rescue and relief operation is in progress in the flood affected areas of Chitral, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sadiqabad and Sindh, Dunya News reported on Friday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR), atleast 42 people from Chitral’s area Boni, 1175 from Garam Chashma, Bambot and Darosh, 250 families from Kark, 21,000 individuals from Layyah and 67,411 from Rahim Yar Khan and Sadiqabad have been evacuated to safer places.

As many as 11000 patients including 200 in Kark and 4282 in Layyah have been provided with medical aid.

ISPR also states that 110 ton ration has been distributed among the flood affectees by army and Frontier Corps (FC) with 250 food packages given in Kark.

Frontier Works Organization while constructing an iron bridge in the area of Reshan has restored land connection with other places whereas maintenance of Chitral’s 12 flood-hit roads continues.

Besides this 18,4000 livestock have also been rescued and shifted to safer places.
