SC's Lahore Registry grants one-month to parties in murder case for settlement

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan’s Lahore Registry on Friday has granted one month to parties in plea seeking nullification of criminal’s capital punishment.

A three member full-bench headed by Justice Saqib Nisar heald hearing of the case.

The petitioner said that criminal, Zafar was sentenced to punishment by death in Ameer Ali’s murder however, the sides have settled the issue outside the court.

He urged the SC to annul the punishment in light of development in the case. Plaintiff’s lawyer provided by the government said that the murderer has settled with the widow and the son whereas the rest of the party members are yet to be confronted.

The SC granted a one-month time period for parties to bury the hatchet.
