Summary Indian Foreign Minister directs Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan to meet Geeta in Karachi

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Indian girl Geeta, who had come to Lahore in a train from India, has been waiting her ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ for the last 15 years. Looking for her family, human rights activist Ansar Burney had informed Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Suwaraj about the lady on Twitter. Sushma replied to the tweet, telling Ansar Burney that she has directed the Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan to meet Geeta in Karachi, reported Dunya News.

According to details, Geeta had somehow reached Lahore in a train from India around 15 years ago. Ansar Burney had announced on Twitter that he had been looking for Geeta’s family. Responding to his tweet, Sushma Suwaraj told that she has directed Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan Dr. TCA Raghuwan to see Geeta in Karachi. Ansar Burney had further told in his tweet that Geeta might belong to Indian states Jharkhand or Tilangana. Geeta remembers only No. 193 and she told in signs that she has 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

Geeta had reached Lahore 15 years ago in a train from India. Rangers had handed her over to esteemed social work organization Edhi Foundation. Geeta was around 9 at that time. She can’t hear or talk due to which it is difficult to get information about her. Reportedly, she is 24-year-old now.

Ansar Burney has started looking for Geeta’s family and he will visit India in this regard during September 2015. Earlier, Ansar Burney had tried to get to Geeta’s family in 2012 but was unable to do so. It is pertinent to mention here that the girl had been named as ‘Geeta’ at the Edhi Foundation because there was no information about her past.
