Summary Work on legal document against Altaf Hussain's hate speech has been started, says Interior Minister
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has on Sunday said that the issue of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s hate speech will be raised on legal grounds before United Kingdom (UK). He said that the work on legal document in this regard has already been started, reported Dunya News.
Holding a press conference in Islamabad, Chaudhry Nisar said that Altaf Hussain has been ridiculing the state and state institutions of Pakistan. He said that the legal document raising Altaf Hussain’ hate speech issue with the UK will be presented to the British government within next few days. “What kind of case will be made on this hate speech issue cannot be told at this moment”, he said. He said that the government’s previous reference against Altaf Hussain is being investigated in Britain. “Ban has been imposed on Altaf Hussain’s live speech. We are in talks right now to ban his speeches completely”, said Nisar.
“Altaf Hussain’s speech targeted the army and the state of Pakistan last night. The speech made from a foreign country crossed all the limits. Previously, heads of important institutions were even called as dogs in Altaf’s speeches. They were even threatened of death. False, and worst kind of, allegations were leveled against Pakistan army. Dirty language was used for security forces. India was asked to directly interfere. Directions were given to protest outside United Nations (UN) offices. Taunting poems were recited against the army. Accusations of poisoning Jinnah and murdering Fatima Jinnah were hurled. Such words do not reflect the emotions of any patriotic Pakistani”, said the Interior Minister. He said that only the enemies of Pakistan can use such language against the country.
Interior Minister said that this was not the language of an Urdu-speaking or even MQM. “It is the language of our enemies”, he added. Nisar said that nobody knows what’s happening apart from a few MQM leaders according to his opinion.
Chaudhry Nisar said that the army and Rangers had nothing to do with the making of money-laundering cases against Altaf Hussain. “Altaf Hussain used to cry while demanding the investigations of Imran Farooq’s murder. Now when we are assisting the British authorities in the same, Altaf alleges us of conspiring against MQM”, Nisar said.
Interior Minister said that Pakistan will continue to cooperate with the British authorities on money-laundering and Imran Farooq murder case no matter what Altaf Hussain says. “Imran Farooq was a Pakistani. He was mercilessly murdered in the streets of UK. There is nothing political about cooperating with Britain on this matter”, he said.
“We decided to go into the Karachi operation keeping politics aside. It is a misconception that MQM is being targeted. We respect MQM’s mandate”, Nisar said.
Talking about the success achieved in the Karachi operation, Interior Minister said that there is 87% improvement in extortion related crimes and 100% improvement in curbing the kidnapping for ransom cases. “There was not a single incident of bank robbery during July. Entire world is admitting the success of Karachi operation but Altaf”, he said. He said that the government is not doing the operation for taking credit. “We neither claimed the credit before nor are we claiming it now”, he said. He said that the operation will continue at the same speed and no hurdle in its way will be able to hinder the operation.
