KARACHI (Dunya News) – Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) in Karachi has detained local members of international extortion group in Karachi today (Friday), Dunya News reported.
The nabbed suspects Faizan Matto and Wasif have revealed that two brothers Hafiz Furqan and Hafiz Asghar while residing in South Africa and Dubai runs the extortion racket in Karachi.
Police has acquired travel documents and threatening emails of Furqan and Asghar whereas evidence of involvement of a woman in the group has also been found.
The suspects have been transferred to undisclosed location for interrogation.
CIA authorities have contacted Interpol for the arrest of Furqan and Asghar. Police authorities claim that conditions in Karachi are under control to such an extent that the engineers and doctors who shifted overseas due to extortion fear, can now return to the metropolis and resume their business.
