(Dunya News) - River Indus is in high flood at Chashma as water torrent has reached Chashma Barrage after passing through Kalabagh.

There is medium level flood at Taunsa where water flow has been recorded at 450,620 cusecs. Water flow in River Jhelum at Mangla is 85,395 cusecs and 82,404 cusecs at Head Rasool.

Flood warning has been issued in Kot Adu, Rajanpur, Jampur, Khanpur, Rojhan, Rahim Yar Khan and Liaquatpur whereas hundreds of villages in interior Sindh including Kandhkot have been inundated in flood water.

On the other hand, water level is continuously rising in River Sutlej after India released more water from Ferozpur Headworks.

The Flood Forecasting Division reported that the River Kabul is in medium flood at Nowshera while both River Jhelum and River Ravi are in low flood at Mangla and Sadhnai.

All other rivers and nullahs are flowing normally at present.

According to Flood Warning Center Peshawar, River Indus at Khairabad, River Kabul at Warsak and Nowshera and River Adezai at Adezai Bridge are in medium flood this morning.

River Panjkora at Dir, River Khiali and River Naguman near Charsadda Road and River Shah Alam at Takhtabad are in low flood.

Chitral received rain last night causing heavy flood in River Chitral. People were shifted to safer places. However, no report of any causality has so far been received.

Rests of the rivers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province are flowing normal.

According to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), 295,000 people have been affected by incessant rains and floods in different parts of the country and Azad Kashmir so far, the Radio Pakistan reported.

There have been 81 flood related deaths and 45 injuries besides damage to 1921 houses. Seven hundred and ninety-three villages have been affected due to flooding.

The Authority says 172,000 people have been evacuated from the affected areas while 195 relief camps have been established. These include 150 in Punjab, 39 in Sindh and 6 in Gilgit-Baltistan. Fifteen thousand people have been accommodated in relief camps.
