Summary PM Nawaz sent Indian counterpart mangoes despite ongoing border tensions
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday sent Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Pakistani mangoes as Eid gift despite the ongoing tensions and Indian violations on the Working Boundary and Line of Control (LoC), Dunya News reported.
The Indian media, however, reported that the gift of mangos has been sent as part of the diplomatic protocol. PM Nawaz had sent mangos to the Indian Prime Minister as well.
The situation this year was even more tensed because of multiple border violations and fatal unprovoked firing by the Indian side. This resulted in Pakistan Rangers’ refusal to accept sweets from Indian forces on Eid.
What results will this mango diplomacy achieve is yet to be seen.
