ATC issues non-bailable arrest warrant for ISU's Inspector for consistent absence

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday has issued non-bailable arrest warrant of Gulberg Special Investigation Unit’s (SIU) Inspector Hussain Mehndi for consistent absence from court hearing.

Inspector Mehndi was assigned an extortion case as investigative officer.

ATC number nine held hearing of extortion case where criminals Maqsood Rana and Muhammad Shoaib were present as well as counsels. However, the investigation officer remained absent like he has been doing in past hearings.

The court directed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central to arrest ISU Inspector and present him before court on July 23. The alleged criminals in the case are accused of demanding at least Rs 10 lac extortion money from a trader.

The investigation officer is not appearing before the court for past five months.
