ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government and Nepra are insisting on charging electricity customers at least Rs 0.70 to Rs 0.80 per unit as gas infrastructure surcharge cutting down the likely relief of May fuel adjustment, according to the sources.

The decision on the matter will be taken on July 16.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CCPA) has suggested authorities to cut power tariff by Rs 3.28 in context of May’s fuel adjustment. Sources said that the customers are likely to not get relief worth Rs 4.5 billion.

Earlier, the customers also bore burden of at least Rs 5 billion in gas infrastructure surcharge instead of April fuel adjustment’s relief.
