RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - A flood warning has been issued to the residents as water level in Rawalpindi’s Nullah Lai rose due to consistent monsoon rain in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
Monsoon downpour has turned weather pleasant in various cities including Lahore whereas the heavy shower has also inundated several roads and streets in some parts of Islamabad‚ Rawalpindi and adjoining areas on Tuesday.
As per details, a consistent rain in federal capital has been witnessed for about more than two hours which has created difficulties for the residents as at least two children lost his life in a roof collapse incident while the shops have also got flooded with rain water as a wall in sector G-8 caved in.

Reportedly, rain water has entered into the Metro Bus Service stations due to which the expensive machinery is feared to be damaged. Not only this, the rain has also submerged main roads of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

According to the spokesman of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), 80 mm of rain has been recorded in Islamabad during the last two hours.

On the other hand, administration has completed the preparation of filling Hub Dam with artificial rain and waiting for the directives from Sindh government.
