Summary Workers are being subjected to 'state torture' in the name of Karachi operation, he said

KARACHI (Dunya News): Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday said MQM does not take any money from any country, adding that their workers are being subjected to ‘state torture’ in the name of Karachi operation.

Addressing women and elder workers of party at Lal Qila ground, MQM chief said that they are being accused of having a relation with and taking money from India. He said they are among those who made Pakistan and that they want to see Pakistan secure.

MQM chief said that any leader who raised voice for rights of people was accused of treason. Quoting examples, he said Bacha Khan and Baloch leaders were termed ‘traitor’, and that Benazir Bhutto was labeled as security risk.

He said MQM is being termed traitor the same way as other leaders of Sindh were in the past.

Altaf Hussain said that Rangers’ accusation is absolutely wrong and ‘baseless’ that MQM’s organizational committee provides militant training to Unit and Sector.

“They say Imran Khan’s sit-ins cost Rs 30 billion, if donations were amounted to a total of Rs 6 billion then where did the rest of Rs 24 billion come from?” he asked.

Altaf Hussain said party officials’ lives are being made difficult and therefore the elders and women workers should step forward and take the charge.
