QUETTA (Dunya News) – At least one person has died and several were wounded after an explosion near Bacha Khan Chowk in Quetta, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the explosion took place outside Baldia shopping center near Bacha Khan Chowk and resulted in killing of one man while injuring at least nineteen others including women and children. The explosion caused harm to various vehicles and nearby buildings as well.
Reportedly, people were busy shopping for Eid at the center when the loud explosion took place. Those wounded were rushed to various hospitals while CCPO Abdul Razzaq Cheema said that terrorists’ intention was to target the general public. The security personnel said that the explosives were placed in a bag planted at the attack location. Eyewitnesses reported that they heard firing after the explosion as well.
Bacha Khan Chowk has seen incidents of terrorism prior to this attack as well. The terrorist attacks are taking place despite installation of barriers at the trade centers and throughout the city for security purposes.
