Summary MQM workers are being treated as war prisoners, says Altaf Hussain

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Saturday has called on Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah to complain about provincial government’s alleged discriminatory behavior with MQM workers.

Due to poor voice quality and distortion, Hussain told Shah that he would call again from his direct number. As the phone rang, CM House operator picked up and was reluctant to pass on the call as he thought both the leaders had talked earlier.

However, Hussain later complained Shah for making him wait for more than half an hour. He said that the operator made him wait while he listened to recorded speeches of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and late Zulfiqar Bhutto.

The MQM chief said that he had called PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Dubai many a times on both his numbers but none picked up. Hussain complained that MQM workers are being treated as war prisoners. The Rangers has made Sindh a disputed province, he added.
