PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Peshawar High Court (PHC) on the petition of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf’s (PTI) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Zahid Durrani regarding local bodies elections has impeded re-polling in 354 polling stations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Dunya News reported on Friday.
The hearing of the case was done by a two-member bench comprising of Justice Mrs Irshad Qaiser and Justice Daud.
The petitioner has adopted the stance that elections held on May 30 were not transparent and impartial therefore; the polls should be declared null and void.
It has also been requested in the plea to halt the process of re-polling that is due to be conducted on July 5.
The judges inquired that under which law re-polling is being carried out.
