Summary Saad Rafique has apparently decided to squeeze Eidi out of customers' pockets
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Railways on Thursday has increased fares of coaches from Karachi to other parts of country by at least 16.5 percent.
The customers have denounced the government’s act terming it unfair.
Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has apparently decided to squeeze Eidi out of customers’ pockets instead of giving them relief this Eid. Following the price hike, fare of Karachi to Lahore business class coach has increased by at least Rs 500 to Rs 700. While, the customers will have to pay Rs 700 to Rs 900 more to travel from Karachi to Rawalpindi.
The Railways authorities have said that the relief given to the people earlier after petroleum products’ prices lowered in international markets has been withdrawn. However, the customers have demanded the government to retract the decision in context of Eidul Fitar.
They further said that the increase in fares after minister’s assurance is shocking.
