Summary Wasaya runs a small tea stall and was sent a Rs 100,000-bill
SHUJABAD (Dunya News) – State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Wednesday visited Shujabad after which one citizen climbed up an electricity poll to protest against over-billing, Dunya News reported.
According to details, a poor industrious man, Allah Wasaya from Shujabad wins the bread for the whole family by running a tea stall and was sent a Rs 100,000-bill for electricity.
Wasaya protested against the bill by climbing up a 100 feet tall poll. He said he had sent the video of meter reader ‘stealing’ electricity to MEPCO office but the MEPCO office billed him for the stolen electricity amount instead of catching the meter reader.
The police and MEPCO officials reached the scene and begged Wasaya to come down for four hours. Wasaya after assurance of correction in the bill finally came down.
The MEPCO employees installed 40 fans that kept functioning despite empty venue of Shujabad Grid Station inauguration. Sher Ali, instead of taking notice of the electricity wastage kept just overlooked it.
The supporters of the State Minister kept staring at the media upon harsh questions.
