Unannounced power outages continue, several areas report low voltage in Balochistan

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Province wide unannounced and announced power outages are continuing while several areas are reporting low voltage during the day.

The long hours without electricity have resulted in shortage of potable water. According to the authorities, the electricity demand of Balochistan is 1,650 Mega Watt (MW) whereas the national grid is providing 700 MW.

In Quetta at least six hour long to eight hour long outages are being carried out while at least 10 hour to 12 hour in district headquarters. The rural areas are taking the most heat with 16-hour to 18-hour long outages.

However, the authorities concerned said that no area is deprived of electricity during Sehr and Iftaar timings.
