ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) Facts Finding Committee on Monday has finalized its report regarding Karachi power crisis.
The report states that K-Electric is not producing electricity up to its capacity. According to the report, had there been no load shedding, the number of deaths would have been lesser.
The report will be presented to Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif today without any delay. The committee was given the job of reviewing K-Electric’s functioning. The committee was formed after matter of worst kind of power outages was raised in the Parliament.
Earlier, in the National Assembly (NA), Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and NA Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah had a couple of arguments which ended a little rough. The government maintained that electricity outages have nothing to do with deaths due to heat wave. Whereas, Shah criticised the government for not adopting necessary measures after Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) forecast of intense heat in the Sindh metropolitan and adjoining areas.
