Summary Aitzaz Ahsan said that government’s ministers had become arrogant

LAHORE (Web Desk, Dunya News) – Opposition parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) and Awami Tehreek took to the roads on Friday to protest against load shedding, reported Dunya News.

Protests were held in front of Lahore Press Club on the call of opposition parties to demonstrate against load shedding. Opposition parties took out a rally from Aiwan-e-Iqbal to Lahore Press Club.

Addressing the rally, PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan said that government’s ministers had become arrogant after their necks had been saved (from sit-ins). Manzoor Watto said that the alliance of opposition would remain as long as government is in power.

PTI leadership said that government’s claims of solving load shedding problem had proven hollow as more than 1000 people had succumbed to heat in Karachi yet government claims that all is well.

Leadership of Awami Tehreek said that masses will rest only when rulers have been ‘thrown out of their houses of power’.

Leaders of Jamat-e-Islami affirmed their support of other opposition parties  stance.

Addressing the crowd, leadership of PML-Q said that rulers should resign over their failure of managing electricity crisis.
