Summary Interior Minister gave permission to UK, says both the suspects still in FC Balochistan’s custody

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has on Tuesday told that British authorities have been allowed to investigate the suspects of Imran Farooq murder case. He said that both the suspects arrested near Chaman Border are still under the custory of Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan. British investigation team will arrive in Pakistan in a few days, reported Dunya News.

Talking to media today in Islamabad, Interior Minister told that the person wanted to the United Kingdom in Imran Farooq murder case was arrested from Karachi 2 months back. “Last week, the UK was informed through the diplomatic channel”, he said. He said that Pakistan has received UK’s request for cooperation and it is Pakistan’s duty to provide them with the assistance.

Nisar said that British police may investigate the suspect in the first phase. He said that the Metropolitan police will come to Pakistan during this week and they have been permitted by Pakistan to come. He told that a 2-member team of the British police will investigate the suspects. He further told that both the suspects arrested last week are still in FC Balochistan’s custody and will be shifted to Islamabad.

“Imran Farooq’s murderers will be brought to the book. It has nothing to do with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)”, said the Interior Minister. He said that the top leadership of MQM also wants the culprits to be caught. He said that Imran Farooq’s murder case wasn’t registered in Pakistan because the incident took place in London.

Talking about the statements made by Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari about army, Nisar said that the explanations made by the PPP leadership later were ridiculous. “The explanations are funnier than the speech. A former president shouldn’t be saying such things but if he does, he should stand by his words”, he said. Nisar said that Zardari’s words couldn’t have been for the ex-army heads of state since Zia-ul-Haque and Musharraf both remained in the position for around ten years while Zardari mentioned the ‘3-year’ term of the generals in his speech.

“Whether Zardari admits or not, he made a big mistake by making this speech”, said Nisar. He said that there were no differences between the political and military leaderships.
