No reduction in loadshedding until decrease in demand, PM informed

Summary Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met Secretary Water and Power in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday directed the concerned authorities to take urgent steps to address the current loadshedding situation and provide respite to the masses at earliest.

The premier gave these remarks during a meeting with Secretary Water and Power Younus Dagha in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister was informed that there was an unprecedented surge in power demand on the first day of the month of Ramazan which resulted in forced loadshedding for some time.

He said the situation could only be brought under control if the demand decreases.

Earlier today, Nawaz Sharif has expressed displeasure over the power outages during Sehr and Iftar. He has sought reply on the load-shedding during these timings.

He also directed the Ministry of Water and Power to address the complaints at the earliest.
