LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Air Security Force (ASF) at Allama Iqbal International Airport arrested at least four men for trying to board Thailand-bound flight while carrying guns, preventing a possible attempt of hijacking.

After recovering the weapons, the suspects were transferred to an undisclosed location and cases have been registered against all four men.

Reportedly, the suspects wanted to board a Bangkok-bound Thai Airways’ flight at the midnight on June 9 but were intercepted right at the check post leading to the airport’s gate.

All four suspects were carrying 9MM pistols. The possibly would-be hijackers hailed from a madrassa in Swat.

They have been booked under Anti-Terrorism Act among other sections and the law enforcement has begun further investigation.
